Yes, I'm well aware that knowledge does not save you from yourself or, rather, save us from ourselves. That's why I wrote this a few posts above...

"I would change the "Wise Man" to "Scholar", as knowledge does not imply understanding. In the film, it was The Fool who turned out to be wisest of all."

Now, a wise man can sacrifice part of himself in order to attain something greater, but neither he, nor his wisdom, is wasted, destroyed, or recycled. Many, many knowledgeable people become food for the lesser gods of the earth (or the moon, if you prefer). Those are the sages. Whereas, the few who hath wisdom are exempt; they are the exception to the rule.

This is why I suggested you change "the wise man" in your archetypal sacrifices to "the scholar". Higher consciousness can not be had without wisdom... a truly rare quality, and it is such elevated states which keep us from being sacrificed, devoured for our nutrients.

Sure, I understood that but being a 'Scholar' doesn't necessarily make one wise or immune. I suppose we are disagreeing over semantics, or proper symbolism.

If you remember our 'Match Made in Hell' show on Spiritually Raw, I wanted to expand on the idea of 'sacrifice' but "Jenny" was too hung up on the idea that this meant to kill a person or animal. We all make sacrifice in some manner, this sacrifice is necessary to our own development. One need not be learned to understand the importance of personal sacrifice.

"The needs of the One, outweigh the Needs of the Many"

    [using a Star Trek reference]

I think Jim understood all too well, how much the 'many' benefit directly from Spock's involvement in their existence, thus sacrificing the needs of the many, for the sake of the One, directly benefits the many in the long-run.

    Treyvon slaying
Is there anyone who doesn't know about this current news item?  The fatal shooting of Treyvon Martin? How long does Zimmerman have before he's...

My guess is he'll be found innocent & riots will begin.

It got me wanting to do a farm in my back yard. I got an acre & so do 6 of my neighbors. We're having a discussion about whether starting a commune would be counter to The VP. I disagree.

Check the regulations in your area before you do. I know a number of people who had their personal 'farms' shut down by local government, discovered by a flyby helicopter.

The trailer is funny, 80's campy!

I don't know why, but this reminds me of one of my fave child horror flicks THE GATE, I was surprised to see it featured on Netflix, no one seems to have heard of the movie when I ask them.

You will laugh to see a young Stephen Dorff.

Yes, that's the movie. It has to be seen to be believed...

The Gate and a lot of those 80's horror films are making a comeback. I bought The Gate a year ago. It still holds up quite well 25 years later.

I'm just letting the goatee go crazy.

I've noticed that, and still amazed at the number of people who haven't seen some of my faves. I got this one loaded to watch this weekend (Things).

Have you thought about adding a bit of color to the goat?
